Major: Computer Information Technology or Business and Marketing?
Posted July 16th, 2010 by adminok well Im having a problem….I do not know if I should stick to my major right now that is Computer Information Technology or change my major to Business and Marketing….I have found a website – www.ulinks.com and I have found something that I would more enjoy doing like the Music Business Degree….but I do not know if it the same kind of major as Business and Marketing or do not know how far I can get into the Music Business with a Business and Marketing Degree….I have already talked with a Adviser and they told me that I could do half of the Business and Marketing but the other half I would have to get it done at a different college because the college im at right now they do not have the Music Business Degree…. I would like to be working for clubs like doing some Promoting and advertising and etc….I would like to be traveling or I would like to work for the (WWE) World Wrestling Entertainment or (TNA) Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in the future….
….I do not think I would want to work with computers my whole life…..but at the same time I do not know if I should change my major…..I know this does not have to do with school but I already know that I plan on becoming a pro wrestler in the future to my dream and goal

I think you should stick with all three majors {Computers, Business & Marketing}. First off, Marketing is usually a business major so you’ll get your business core & background by majoring in Marketing at almost any college. Also, I know some schools that have a M.I.S. major in their business school. That stands for Management Information Systems. It is a computer major in the school of business through their Managemet Dept. You will also have to take required Marketing courses & you’ll have business electives if you want to take more Marketing. You should check into Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. I went to school here & I was an M.I.S. major so I know the whole program.
They also have computer management major in their Applied Science Dept. where they are required to take or offer business courses.
You should contact the university for more details; especially about seeing how your courses transfer.
I’ve never heard of a Music Business Degree in any school of business & I’ll bet it’s offered through the Music Dept. Check the school that offers it & find out the details. It sounds like you educated in computer & that yo also have a desire to work in clubs with music. I would suggest sticking with a business/computer degree & learning the music business on your own.

One of the best music business degrees is at Belmont University in Nashville. I don’t know if you want that or entertainment management (WWE etc.). Seems you might want sports management/business instead. There are good schools for that. The marketing aspect would be good for your target interest, though.
